Sadly a few months ago saw the passing away of Frank Foster who originally had the idea for this race. He is sorely missed by all who knew him.

At one point I thought I might actually run in the race this year but unfortunately running in my village fell race at the week-end put pay to that. Thanks to you all for coming out today. Just one less team than last year, though I was beginning to wonder when Maths left it even later than usual to put in their entries, and a promised entry from Facilities was even later. Congratulations to LEC-runners (who were mistakenly not given the "Age/Gender Corrected" prize at the prize-giving last year ), who won again this year despite only having 3 runners! Adjusting their correction to allow for this last minute team change delayed the prize giving a little, but luckily the weather was better this year so no-one minded. Thanks to the helpers, Rob, Ian, Dave, and Lingfei from Physics, Neils from Maths who helped to collect in the flags, and two others whose names I don't know who also helped road marshalling. Have a good summer, and start training for next year.

(*)I am assured the prize was passed on to the correct team later in the day.
