What a glorious day to celebrate the end of term (well - nearly) , and the start of a long hot Summer (let's hope). The organisation seemed to work ok this year despite the fact that I only got back from Japan a week before. This is why the race had to be in Week 10 this year. Times were a bit faster this year thanks to the drier conditions I guess. Congratulations to LEC Runners on winning both the overall prize and the age-corrected prize this year, must be all those double barreled names that made the difference. Not sure if having a famous brother helps too.

As I said at the prize giving I will be in Japan this time next year. Rob Henderson will see if he can manage to organise the race, but he could well be in Geneva too. Also by 2012 the new Sport's Centre will be open and I was thinking of trying to find a new route starting from there. Let me know what you think.

Thanks to the ground staff for supplying the stakes, and the big metal spike to make holes in the ground so we could get them in. Thanks to Physics workshop for supplying another big spike and another big hammer for the same reason. Thanks as ever to all helpers. Special thanks to Rob Henderson for putting out and taking in the flags, Niels Laustsen for collecting in flags, Ruth Davidson for help with the timing, and to the road marshalls, Iain Bertram and Frank Foster - yes the man whose hare brained idea this race was all those years ago. Good to see you again Frank!

If anyone has any photos of the event they want to share please let me know and I will add them to this site.
