And thanks to Barry for some great pics (as usual!).
So no-one on the first or fourth legs was flattened by a digger, no-one on the second leg was lost in the mud, and no-one on the third leg was shot by the archers - another succesful Physics Relay, just the way to mark the start of the summer! When I saw the dire weather forecast on Tuesday night I wondered if we might have our first case of hypothermia, as it turns out the rain held off pretty much, but times were, not surprisingly, a bit longer than previous years. Maths/Stats would have managed another clean sweep apart from the rule that you can not win more than one prize, so it was good to see Physics Relay stalwarts MISFITS getting a prize. As entries were down a bit this year, I am thinking of running a poll next year to find the optimum day to run the race.
Thanks as ever to all helpers, who were once again all from the high energy physics group. Special thanks to Rob Henderson for putting out and taking in the flags. Thanks also to Ruth Davidson for help with the timing, and to the road marshalls, James Catmore, James Walder, Scot Braithwaite and Tom Maryon.
