Meaning: a beautiful, patient girl with little money will think it’s fun living in a basement apartment with a guy who jumps backwards off cliffs and writes all day long in his Moleskin. Her lack of abstract thinking ability is overwhelmed by her disposition, and if she had abstract thinking ability she a) wouldn’t move into a basement studio apartment; and b) would intimidate his mother. IOW, she should resemble his mother, so he can marry his mom, what could be finer! Also, it would be great if her waitress job or coat-check girl job was at a good steakhouse.

Given, or accepting, BB’s constraint optimization framework as fact, which is the sobering bucket of cold water splashed across one’s face, it’s highly likely I remain a Norwegian bachelor farmer. Interesting reflection.
Also, I suppose “Looks” is meant, under cloak of BB politesse, to be “looks plus sexual appeal”. In the manosphere people always seem to associate looks directly with sexual appeal, as though looks *comprised* sexual value. I don’t think that’s true, though it sure is great when it is true; nonetheless I’m playing along and I read “looks” in this game to mean “looks” and “looks as proxy for sexual appeal”.
But a girl, even the sluttiest girl, boasting of her exploits, that just didn’t happen. Plausible deniability was the order of the day.
I don’t mean to sound snobbish here, but … perhaps the quality of the school matters. FSU is down market from UF, no? Similarly, we would hear crazy stories about various Cal State campuses (esp. Chico) and also UCSB. UCSC (in my hometown, yay!) was known as a big drug school, while Humboldt State, in the heart of the pot growing country, was as well.
Cal was drunk and smoking dope but not quite as wild as all that. Berkeley has always been an “earnest” place. They take their mission to be the leftist prude exemplars to the world very seriously.
